When I was a teenager, I made a quilt using 1930s reproduction prints—simple 5” squares, carefully arranged.
My grandmother, the ultimate “quilt police,” watched closely.
She’d sigh whenever my points didn’t match.
“It’s not quite right, Emily.”
But over time, I realized something: perfection isn’t what makes a quilt beautiful. It’s the love, the effort, and even the imperfections that give a quilt meaning.
💪That’s what I love about teaching quilting today—helping others find their own style, whether that means embracing the challenge of precise points ✂️ or learning to let go and find beauty in the imperfections 🎨.
