The moment I realized what sewing alone was costing me

Hi {{ first_name }},

I am really glad you came back today.

Because this part of the story surprised me the most.

There was a moment when something became clear.

I was not finishing quilts anymore.

Not because I did not love them.
Not because I did not care.

But because I was trying to carry everything by myself.

Somewhere along the way, I convinced myself that sewing alone meant I was being strong.
That quietly working through things was the right way.
That I just needed to push through.

But the truth was simpler than that.

Sewing alone was keeping me stuck.

Projects that mattered to me would begin with so much intention.
And then, slowly, they would stall.

Not abandoned on purpose.
Just set aside.

If this feels familiar, I want you to hear this clearly.

You are not behind.

You belong here if you have unfinished projects folded away.
If you have ever sat at your sewing machine feeling heavy instead of excited.
If you have ever thought, I love quilting, but something about this feels harder than it should.

What changed everything for me was not learning something new.

It was allowing myself to sew with others.

To share the process.
To move stitch by stitch together.
To let connection be part of the making.

That is what the Heart Block Sew Along is really about.

Not perfection.
Not speed.
Not doing more.

But creating something meaningful in a way that feels supported instead of solitary.

Tomorrow, I want to share the moment when everything finally clicked for me
and why sewing together changed more than just my projects.

I will see you back here tomorrow.

With love,
Emily

P.S. If you have not downloaded your free Heart Block pattern yet, now is a beautiful time.
We will be sewing together on 2/22, and I would love for you to join us.

P.S.S, If you’re in the mood to gently care for your sewing space, I’ve added a small collection of curated Notion Boxes to the shop today. Each one is different, thoughtfully put together, and filled with tools you’ll actually use.
