I want to start by saying thank you — truly — for being here. Whether you’ve been part of this community for years or just discovered Quilting Your Legacy, I’m so honored you’re here. This is a space built for people who want to create with meaning and leave something beautiful behind.
Let me tell you why I started this journey…
The first time I held a needle was when I was 10, standing next to my grandmother in her Vermont quilt shop. She gently guided my hands and whispered a phrase I would carry with me:
“We don’t just make quilts, Emily. We stitch stories.”
Since then, quilting has always been more than fabric and thread. It’s been relationships, memories, healing, and legacy.
There was the quilt my grandma and I made together — each fat quarter chosen to hold something special in our family. The quilt I made for Nathan — imperfect, precious, full of heart. And that first quilt I ever stitched, with crooked seams and crazy color choices… ten-year-old me would smile seeing where we’ve come.
